a development budget of around £40million in the coming year
and an expanding property portfolio of nearly 3,000 homes,
Coastal Housing Group is at the forefront of urban
regeneration.
Housing is a
vital element in wider economic and urban regeneration and
very often the catalyst for much of the improvement. We work
in partnership with local councils, regional bodies,
businesses, voluntary and community organisations.
We are at the forefront of promoting mixed use:
residential/commercial/leisure developments in Wales with
Regional and National Awards putting the Association’s urban
regeneration achievements up with the market leaders in the
private sector.
An increasing number of people are finding that city living is
the perfect solution for them. Easier access to work, shops,
transport and leisure are all key factors and housing above
quality commercial leisure or retail outlets creates a
vibrant and attractive environment where people want to
live.
We are breaking down the old ways of working and developing
closer working relationships with contractors, suppliers and
other interested parties to get better value for money and
good quality homes for the rented and affordable housing
market.
Contractors partnering with housing associations already
play a huge part in supporting local economies, including
local employment, training and apprentices, recruitment and
retention.
The Association has joined forces with seven other housing
associations across south and west Wales to form Integrate –
a consortium aimed at driving down cost, while at the same
time, supporting the local and regional Welsh economy and
small and medium enterprises.
All eight Integrate associations have impressive track records
in delivering Social Housing Grant programme’s, a reputation
for delivering effective and efficient housing management
and a commitment to investing in local communities.
Together . . . we employ over seven hundred people, have
over 18,000 properties in management, and a combined
development and maintenance programme of some £200 million
over the next 4 years.
