The ‘Integrate’ consortium have been recognised at the prestigious UK Housing awards that were held in London on 9th November 2006.

Integrate was nominated for the category of ‘Outstanding achievement in social housing in Wales’. The nomination follows the successful implementation of a skills and learning programme that will significantly enhance the quality of housing delivered through Integrate.

The comprehensive training programme was set up to equip Integrate members with the technical and collaborative working skills required to meet the challenges of consortium working. After initial induction training, the subsequent training modules involved staff from all our Finance, Development and Maintenance Departments.

The focus of the training has been on open book accounting, collaborative working and reassessing traditional thinking of “the team.” Additionally the importance of good communication and the need to plan and create time to work collaboratively were also key elements.

Feedback has been positive and it has been incredibly beneficial for people from all the associations to meet and discuss the work of Integrate.

Integrate is the only Welsh consortia to have made any meaningful progress in implementing a training programme.
